[Charity Event] Invitation to Experience FJM Saint Rita Week Reflexology

May is a special and grace-filled month in the Catholic tradition, dedicated to honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary. May 22 is also the feast day of FJM’s patron saint, Saint Rita of Cascia.

During this blessed season, members of the FJM global family will be offering caring and heartfelt services at different times and locations through the FJM Reflexology Method.

We warmly invite you to join us on this meaningful occasion—to slow down, to reconnect with your body and mind, and to experience the love and care shared among us.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing this moment of warmth and blessing together.

Hope for the Hopeless — Saint Rita

Saint Rita of Cascia was born in 1381 in Roccaporena, Italy. Her life was marked by deep faith, perseverance, and extraordinary strength in the face of suffering.

Raised with love and strong values, she grew into a woman devoted to service and compassion. She later married and had two sons. Tragically, her husband was killed in a family feud, and her sons also passed away not long after. Despite such profound loss, she chose forgiveness over vengeance and dedicated the rest of her life to God.

One of the most touching miracles associated with her occurred near the end of her life. During winter, while she was bedridden, she expressed a wish to see a rose. Though it seemed impossible in the cold and snow, a relative found a blooming rose in the garden—an enduring symbol of hope in the midst of despair.

Saint Rita deeply shared in the suffering of Christ and even bore a wound on her forehead, believed to be connected to the crown of thorns. She is known as the “Saint of the Impossible” and the “Patron of the Hopeless,” offering comfort to those facing illness, family struggles, or emotional pain.

Her life reminds us that even in the darkest moments, hope can still be found—just like a rose blooming in the heart of winter.

A Guiding Presence for FJM

In the Catholic tradition, a patron saint is someone believed to offer guidance, protection, and spiritual support.

As the patron saint of FJM (Father Josef Eugster Holistic Development Association), Saint Rita of Cascia embodies the values that guide our work—humility, obedience, compassion, and love.

FJM practitioners come from diverse backgrounds and may not all share the same religious beliefs. However, the spirit of Saint Rita resonates universally:
to serve others with gentleness and patience, and to help relieve both physical and emotional burdens.

As Father Josef Eugster once said:
“To reduce the suffering of others and increase their joy is the purpose of life.”

For many years, FJM has carried this mission into underserved regions, including parts of India and Africa, providing training in reflexology so that individuals can care for themselves and their families.

What we share is not only a method of wellness, but also a seed of hope—one that grows through care, connection, and empowerment.
